What is basic level driver training?

The ELDT regulations establish the minimum federal requirements for training that beginning drivers must complete before they are allowed to take certain commercial driver license (CDL) skills or knowledge tests beginning February 7, 2022.


Who is considered a Beginner driver? Individuals applying:
get CDL Class A or CDL Class B for the first time Upgrade an existing Class B CDL to a Class A Obtain an endorsement for hazardous materials (H)


Simply start our entry-level driver training course and create your KEMEX CDL profile to track your progress.

You will learn at your own pace Go as fast as you want or take as long as you want. Our course is designed to be learned at your own pace in small understandable modules.

You will need to pass the ELDT theoretical training portion with at least a score of 80% or higher. If you take our ELDT course, we will guide you through all the topics necessary to pass the ELDT Theoretical Training.

By the end of our course you should have a strong understanding of ELDT theory. If you still want to practice or need to review, you can retake the course at any time.

If you completed entry-level driver training with a provider registered with FMCSA, you may check your record to see what information your training provider has submitted to the Training Provider Registry.

Note that providers are required to submit training certification information by midnight of the second business day after the driver completes training.
